Overview:
- With rising disparities in education and the STEM fields, MIT sought to build an AI-based platform to make STEM more accessible from an early age to historically disadvantaged populations such as young girls and children of color. Protyo supported MIT teams in developing a cutting-edge AI and robotics platform that adapts to the educational needs of the child.
The challenge:
- Research has shown that there is a significant gap in access to STEM education by historically disadvantaged populations such as young girls and children of color. MIT has set an objective to actively research means by which AI and robotics can bridge that gap and make STEM more accessible for all.
The solution:
- Protyo integrated with MIT teams to help develop the models, software libraries, and robotic platform that will be used as an AI learning platform for classroom use by primary and middle school teachers and students between the ages of 6 to 14.
The impact:
- After close collaboration with MIT, Protyo helped the team to prepare and use the new platform for internal deployment.
