Overview:
- With coastal erosion from climate change having the potential to impact billions of people around the world, Harvard sought to forecast the impact of coastal erosion from climate change and build remote sensing systems to capture critical data. Protyo supported Harvard teams in actively developing the software and hardware for this new system and supported their field deployment.
The challenge:
- Climate change is leading to coastal erosion which will impact billions of people around the world. Harvard has set an objective to active researching means by which to measure the effects of climate change and forecast the impact long term. As part of the development, Harvard realized that novel sensor packages and ML models needed to be developed so as to collect real time data and create models to forecast coastal erosion.
The solution:
- Protyo joined Harcard’s R&D team to help expedite the development and deployment of the HG remote monitoring system. Protyo contributed to their software and hardware development to create a low cost and robust system that is being deployed into the field.
The impact:
- After close collaboration with Harvard, Protyo helped the team to prepare and deploy the new remote monitoring system.
